Gelatissimo is releasing two Christmas flavours which pit Australia (Christmas pudding flavour) against Italy (Panettone flavour). The flavours will be available Australia wide from Monday (28 November) through to the new year (1 January). There are two Gelatissimo stores in Adelaide (280 Rundle Street and 101 Gouger Street) and 25 stores across Australia.

The Adelaide Showground Farmers Market has announced its Christmas and New Year market dates. The last Sunday market for 2011 is Sunday 18 December, but there are two twilight markets (running from 4pm – 8pm) on Thursdays 22 and 29 December.

San Remo has just released its new range of potato filled agnolotti (probably not for those on the Dukan diet!). Apparently these little goodies can be boiled, baked or fried! They’re available in four varieties (all contain potato): cheese and onion, spinach and onion, bacon and sage, and leek and dill. Now available at Coles.

South Australia’s own Coopers Brewery had a very successful night at the ALIA (Australian Liquor Industry Association) awards last week. Coopers Pale Ale won three awards: best full strength beer, best tap beer and best marketed beer. It was also runner up for best liquor brand. Coopers 62, Coopers Clear and Coopers Sparkling also garnered mentions, being runners up and highly commended.
I daresay most South Australians already know that Coopers produces the best beers – but here’s some proof for our friends interstate and overseas!

The first Uncorked food and wine evening will be held at The Store (North Adelaide) on Tuesday 18 October. The four course French style meal will be matched with wines from Barossa Valley label, Teusner Wines, and winemaker Kym Teusner will be at the meal. The menu has been put together by Teusner, working with The Store’s chef and sommelier, Fabien Streit and Kennedy Simpson. Tickets are $95 (payable on booking) and are available by contacting the restaurant on 08 8361 6999.

Amadio Wines has won six medals at the awc Vienna 2011 International Wine Challenge. Gold medals were awarded to the 2008 Red Shed Barossa Shiraz, the flagship 2008 Misura 800 Shiraz and the 2009 Sangiovese.

San Remo has released a new addition to its range of fresh pasta: sfoglia ravioli. The new pasta is available in both the standard range and a new special recipe range (Angus beef, or Angus beef and mushroom). Available at most leading and independent supermarkets.
